What To Do

This month is all about moving your body and trying new things, so our What to Do list definitely has you covered in both areas!

Walk the Rowe for Heart – Come walk or even race on a Cycle Nation stationary bike at Perkins Rowe’s Walk the Rowe for Heart event on January 5th! This event is a collaboration with the American Heart Association and free and open to the public.

Dig Baton Rouge Restaurant Week – Whether you prefer blackened to broiled and grilled to fried, there’s sure to be something to tempt your taste buds at Dig’s Restaurant Week. Eat your way through the Capital City from January 21 – 26. *

Where To Go

Looking to learn more or find a new spot for your brainstorming sessions? We have you covered with this month’s Where to Go list!

Light House Coffee – With the the turn of a New Year, we’re all about reflecting and refocusing! Our favorite local place to grab a coffee and brainstorm has quickly become Light House Coffee – we highly recommend it for your next meeting or coffee date!

East Baton Rouge Parish Library – Whether you’re looking to learn something new or just have a resolution to read more, check out the latest and greatest at your nearest public library! The main floor of the new East Baton Rouge Parish library at 7711 Goodwood Blvd houses the adult book section including reference, fiction, nonfiction, study rooms and computers. The large, two-story space allows views to Independence Park and extensive natural lighting to add to the quality of the environment.

LSU Lakes – Can you spy Petey the Pelican at the Lakes?! We sure can! It doesn’t matter if you walk, jog, or run, the LSU Lakes are a great place to unwind outdoors!

What To Eat

Now that the holidays have Jingle Bell Rocked on over, we’ve rounded up our favorite healthy restaurants for you to start the New Year right!

Barre3 January Challenge – Come lift, tuck, pulse and more at Barre3! Sign up for their January Challenge and get a month of unlimited access to classes in-studio, month-long free access to Headspace and support from this amazing community! Community Run @ White Star Market – Join Varsity Sports as they team up with White Star Market for another community run on January 17th! Grab your running watch and come jog your choice of a 2 or 4 mile path!

Louisiana Marathon WeekendLace up those running shoes and come hit the pavement with thousands of other locals and visitors alike! Celebrate all the miles logged with the marathon weekend’s incredible finish festival too – you know we love a little lagniappe!

Our Don’t Stop Just Geaux movement is a way of life, a place where you can just Geaux at anytime and give yourself a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise It’s a community we are building to empower each other to move and share our individual journeys. And guess what?! YOU can join too!
