As Insiders, one of our goals is to share what’s around the Baton Rouge community. Each Tuesday, we try to offer a thing called Locals on Tuesday.  With this new post, we wanted to provide some ways and places you can help support local businesses now more than ever!

Below you’ll find a list of local businesses that we love for all hand sanitation and how you can purchase them.

SoYaya’s Lavender Lemonade Soap: is made with a base of olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. I also included glycerin to keep it from stripping your hands raw with the constant hand washing going on. Scented with essential oils to have a lavender lemonade scent. It is so creamy and smells like something you’d want to eat.

Cake Face Soaping Sanitizer: is currently offering two forms of hand sanitizer: Liquid Spray and Gel sanitizer. The CDC recommends taking preventative actions to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus and other respiratory diseases by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Vigorous handwashing with soap and water for 20-30 seconds is the best defense, but in the case that you do not have access to them hand sanitizer is a good option.

Be Kind Products: is a local bath and body products shop featuring handmade soaps, bath bombs, bubble bars, sugar scrubs, and more! Be Kind Body Products was born from recognizing how important it is to be kind to ourselves. Their hope is that their products help women realize it is okay to treat themselves and make time for themselves because we absolutely deserve it! They are located in Plaquemine, La and currently sell online through their etsy shop and Facebook business page. They just recently celebrated three years in business!

Love Life Soap Co: soap products are made with natural ingredients, have no artificial fragrances or coloring, ethically and sustainably sourced, soaps are all palm oil-free and handmade in small batches in St. Amant, Louisiana.

Sweet Olive Soap Works: was created out of Emily’s intense desire to promote the healthier aspects of the region and the culture she loves. Her Grandma Anna Mae was a soapmaker who owned her own business and dedicated countless summer afternoons to sharing her skills with little Emily.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Applying the basic techniques that Grandma Anna Mae passed down, Emily continues to handcraft each batch of cold process soap from scratch, using gourmet recipes that have been formulated to naturally nourish and moisturize your skin.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Whenever possible, ingredients are locally-sourced. Emily is proud to work in partnership with environmentally responsible businesses and individuals throughout the state of Louisiana to bring you a truly home-grown bath & body experience.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣

When you purchase products from @sweetolivenola, you know that you are supporting people and resources that help make our region great.⁣⁣⁣

Louisiana Sunshine Soap: Marion is the owner behind this Plaquemine based business who makes her products one batch at a time, with quality ingredients, some herbs & flowers that she grows herself or locally sourced! Louisiana Sunshine Soap Co. soaps offers Southern & Louisiana themed soaps that make great local gifts.

Leaf + Root: handcraft our goods in small batches. We use organic ingredients chosen for their specific healing properties and value utilizing local and wild-harvested material. Our goods are potent and effective and have a broad range of healing capabilities. It is an honor to be with you on your path to wellness.

Stay safe out there, wash your hands and support your local makers!!
