What To Do 

 

From parades to adoptable pups, the fun continues this month in our Sweet Baton Rouge! Enjoy these family-friendly events happening all around the Capital City. 

 

Wearin of the Green Parade Don’t get pinched! Join the krewe for their Emerald Parade Year!! Yes, this tradition has been parading through for the past 35 years, and will celebrate in style on Saturday, March 14 at 10am. 

 

Touch a TruckThe Junior League of Baton Rouge’s Touch A Truck 2020 is celebrating five years of a WHEELIE good time on Saturday, March 21! Touch A Truck is a unique, interactive, one-day event that allows children of all ages to see, touch, and explore their favorite big trucks, vehicles, heavy equipment, and more. 

 

Fashion to the RescueThis family-friendly fashion show fundraiser will be held on March 28 at 4pm and will showcase the best spring looks from various retailers at the Rowe! Each model will also be accompanied by an adoptable pup from Companion Animal Alliance. 

 

Where To Go 

 

Spring is finally here, which means it’s time to get outdoors and explore all that the Capital City has to offer! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite outdoor events for you to experience this month. 

 

Baton Rouge Spring Garden Show – The 18th annual Baton Rouge Spring Garden Show is set for March 14 and 15 at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. 

 

Zippity Zoo Fest Head over to the Baton Rouge Zoo to celebrate their 50th Birthday at the Annual Zippity Zoo Fest on Saturday, March 28! Guests will enjoy a Children’s Village, Face Painting, EdZooCation Station, Animal Enrichments and Chats, Entertainment Stage and of course FREE Birthday Cake! 

Zapp’s International Beerfest Zapp’s International Beerfest returns to the LSU Rural Life Museum on Saturday, March 28! With more than 200 foreign, domestic, and home brewed beer and ales, it’s sure to be a great time for all to enjoy! 

 

What To Eat 

Carnival season may be over, but the food festivals continue! Tempt your taste buds at one of our local festivals such as Wingamania or Crawfete. Then curb your cravings with a round of local food trucks at Perkins Rowe’s quarterly Food Truck Round-Up! 

Wingamania – WINGAMANIA! is a festival dedicated to the almighty chicken wing! The event will take place at Tin Roof Brewing Company on March 5th, 2020. All proceeds benefit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center

 

Crawfete – Enjoy the official kickoff to crawfish season at the premier crawfish festival in Baton Rouge! Regional restaurants and caterers will compete for your vote for either the best gourmet crawfish dish or the best boiled crawfish on Sunday, March 8 at Perkins Rowe. Grab your tickets today!

 

Food Truck Round-Up at the Rowe – Not sure what to eat? Grab those eatin’ pants because the first Food Truck Round-Up at the Rowe of 2020 is happening on March 27 from 6pm-9pm.  Trucks will be lined up from Barnes & Noble to Kendra Scott.

 

Don’t Stop Just Geaux 

Whether you’re looking for a local class to try or would rather work out at home, we have you covered on ways to Don’t Stop Just Geaux all month long! 

OLOL Children’s Hospital Amazing Half Marathon – Race for a good cause at the annual Amazing Half Marathon event benefiting OLOL Children’s Hospital on March 7! Whether you prefer the 5K or the half, it’s sure to be a great time! 

 

Wearin of the Green 5K – Looking to Don’t Stop Just Geaux before the annual parade?! We have you covered with the Wearin of the Green 5K Shamrock Run starting at 8am on Saturday, March 14. Lace up those tennis shoes, and don’t forget to wear your green! 

 

Spring Rally, Releves & Plies – Are y’all ready to Don’t Stop Just Geaux?! Join us for a FREE Community Workout with our friends Body Sculpt Barre Studio at Electric Depot on Saturday, March 21! 

2020 Capital Area Heart Walk – Walk for heart at the annual American Heart Association Heart Walk. This year’s walk will be held in downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, March 28.
