LSU Baseball @ The Box – Bring the whole family or your next date night to The Box this month! Watch our LSU Tigers take on Ole Miss and Auburn during their home game series in May. Don’t forget… Hot dogs and double plays are a must!
Mother’s Day – Show Mom how much you appreciate all her
Jambalaya Fest – The Jambalaya Festival features World Champion Jambalaya served daily, live music and entertainment, carnival rides, cooking contest and a variety of food. Occurs Memorial Day weekend in Gonzales.
Memorial day flagging – Join the Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana Chapter 1 and other local groups for the annual Memorial Day flagging at the Capitol. Over 11,000 flags are placed in honor of Louisianians who have given their lives in military service.

Summer weather means longer days, cool nights and even more local festivals! We’ve rounded up our favorite places to go this month below.
Crawfish King Cook-off – If it’s spring in Louisiana…there must be a crawfish boil! This collaborative fundraising event highlights the boiling skills of local teams who come together to compete and raise money for Big Buddy and Junior Achievement of Baton Rouge.
Hot Art Cool Nights – Join us for the spring’s hottest, yet coolest, night around on Friday, May 10! Hundreds of Mid City merchants, painters, sculptors, chefs, musicians. jewelry makers, photographers, and creatives of all types will join together for one fabulous party.
Baton Rouge Oyster Festival – Aw shucks, another festival?! The Second Annual Baton Rouge Oyster Festival will return to downtown on May 18! The free-to-the-public, family-friendly festival will feature live music performances, cooking & shucking competitions as well as food from your favorite spots around Baton Rouge.

It’s May, which can only mean one thing… Cinco de Mayo celebrations are here! We’ve rounded up our favorite local spots for tacos and ritas so you and your taste buds are covered!
Superior Grill – Nothing screams Cinco de Mayo like a 2-for-1 famous margarita at Superior! If the margs don’t have you on your feet, the live music from local bands sure will!
