Staying true to our Sweet Baton Rouge Insider roots, we’ve compiled a list of What To Do, Where To Go, What To Eat, and how to Don’t Stop Just Geaux all month long!
What To Do
November is a month full of gratitude, preparation for the season, and simply being home for the holidays! With that in mind, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite things to do around Sweet Baton Rouge for you to enjoy:
Live After Five @ Downtown Baton Rouge – Wrap up the season with Sierra Green and the Soul Machine. Get ready for a unique and exciting show from this New Orleans band! A little bit of everything from funk to rock, blues, soul, reggae, country, latin grooves and popular covers!
Acoustic Brunch @ White Star Market – Come listen to the musical stylings of Billy Callaway, Peyton McMahon, and Fierce and Folly at White Star Market each Sunday in November.
Mistletoes & Mimosas @ The Foyer – Swing by The Foyer on Sunday, November 11th from 12:00 – 4:00 pm to sip, shop and socialize at their annual holiday event.
Where To Go
With the air getting crisper and the leaves turning, November is the perfect month for getting out and about and exploring all that our Sweet Baton Rouge has to offer!
Plantation Tours – Play tourist in your own city for a Day Date exploring all of the historical and beautiful plantations around Baton Rouge. From Houmas House to Nottoway and Magnolia Mound to The Myrtles, there’s sure to be something for all to enjoy!
Perkins Rowe – Whether you’re in need of some Black Friday shopping or want to bring the kiddos to a family-friendly Wild Day at the Rowe event, Perkins Rowe has you covered! You can even keep the whole family occupied with $2 Tuesdays at Cinemark during the holidays!
Post Office – In the spirit of gratitude, take a quick trip to your local post office to spread some holiday cheer! We recommend a sweet card or gift from one of our Lagniappe Box vendors, Magnolia Creative Co or a Lagniappe Box itself!
What To Eat
Whether you’re looking for a local restaurant to cater your Thanksgiving festivities or simply want some seasonal dishes, there’s always a little lagniappe to go around in Sweet Baton Rouge’s culinary community.
Elsie’s Plate & Pie – The cooler weather makes us want to belly up to some good ole Louisiana comfort food, and Elsie’s doesn’t disappoint! A few of our recommendations are the Fried Chicken & Red Beans, Seafood Pot Pie, and Cajun Crawfish Queso!
Bistro Byronz – From their Pot Roast Creole dinner to their seasonal Frozen Sangria Cider, Bistro Byronz always has something for the whole family to enjoy! They also offer catering at their Government Street location!
BRQ – We’ve been told that BRQ’s catering might just tempt your taste buds even more than their daily menu! Their homemade turkey gravy will have you gobblin’ for more!
Don’t Stop Just Geaux
If you’re like us, we’re looking to get some burpees in before the turkeys this holiday season! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite ways to Don’t Stop Just Geaux this November:
Evolve Studios Pilates class @ White Star Market – Evolve Studios continues to host complimentary pilates classes at White Star Market on Saturday, November 3 and November 10th beginning at 10:00 am.
Wine Down Wednesdays @ White Star Market – Grab your yoga mat and wine down with a free community yoga class each Wednesday evening in November beginning at 6:00 pm.
Turkey Trot @ Downtown Baton Rouge – Celebrating its 32nd year, the Turkey Trot is a local thanksgiving tradition – one that serves the community by keeping them active and by partnering with the March of Dimes as a fundraiser.
