From philanthropic fashion shows to anniversary screenings, there’s plenty to do in our Sweet Baton Rouge this month! We’ve rounded up a few of our “must-dos” for y’all below!
Pottery Workshop @ Circa 1857 – Test your skills at another Pottery Workshop at Circa 1857 on Thursday,
Sept. 5 at 6:00PM! Beginners and professionals alike will learn the basics of hand-building with clay.
Steel Magnolias 30th Anniversary – Celebrate Steel Magnolias’ 30th anniversary with a special viewing at the Manship Theatre on Sunday, September 15 from 2:00 – 4:00pm. Don’t forget… Shop our Sweet & Southern collection to grab your favorite Steel Magnolias’ tee to wear!
Fashion to the Rescue – Perkins Rowe is teaming up with Companion Animal Alliance for the cutest fashion show fundraiser on September 29! It will showcase the best fall looks from various retailers, and each model will be accompanied by an adoptable pup from Companion Animal Alliance!
Where To Go
With so many fun things happening in and around the Capital City, we’ve compiled a list of our favorites! From tacos to hot air balloons, there’s sure to be something for all to enjoy!
New Orleans Tacos & Margs Crawl – The Tacos & Margs Crawl is coming to New Orleans! Close out summer right with lots of tacos and margaritas on Saturday, September 21! Tickets available now.
Rock N Rowe Returns – Dust off those lawn chairs and grab your boogie shoes, because Rock N Rowe is returning to Perkins Rowe for the Fall 2019 concert series! All concerts are free and open to the public.
Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival – The 2019 Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival returns to Gonzales, and brings the Boucherie Festival on September 27 – 29! The festival consists of hot air balloons, live entertainment, great food, nightly fireworks, carnival rides and plenty of fun for the whole family!
What To Eat
Plan a date night or ladies’ night out, because September is full of exciting, new dinner plans! Try out a cooking class or check out the newest restaurant in town, either way you’ll definitely find something to curb your cravings.
Solera’s Grand Opening – Check out the newest restaurant on the block this month with Solera’s grand opening! They will be officially opening for both lunch and dinner on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Bar Bites @ Red Stick Spice – Skip Happy Hour and slide into the weekend with Red Stick Spice for a happiness-guaranteed, hands-on class on September 12. From nibbles to alcohol sponges, we’ll be making the best of the belly-up-to-the-bar food!
Pizza with a Purpose – Head over to California Pizza Kitchen on Thursday, September 26th to support BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo! Just mention the cause, and 20% proceeds from your meal will benefit the zoo!

Whether you’re looking for a local class to try or would rather work out at home, we have you covered on ways to Don’t Stop Just Geaux all month long!
Yoga Flow at the Rowe – Grab those yoga mats, bottles of water and friends and head over to Perkins Rowe for yoga flow with Southern Oaks Athletic Club every Saturday morning in September! Registration begins at 7:30am, and class starts at 8:00am!
Goat Yoga – Old Rusty Gate Farm is bringing goat yoga back after a hot summer! Join them on Saturday, September 7th for a fun-filled class! Tickets are $25 per person and available now.
Dance Marathon’s Superhero 5K – Celebrate our Miracle Kids and the superheroes they are at the Dance Marathon at LSU Superhero 5K! The Superhero 5K will be September 22, 2019, at 9:00am!
